Unknown nocturnal mammal seeks acoustic truths in the midst of amphibian headhunters.
This SOLP release resembles that of a "12-inch dance single". Our version has a short track on the "A" side, "Amphibian Head File". The "B" side contains "The Immortal Rites Of Bongo Whoosh", which is a long journey bestowed upon those seeking wisdom in the midst of "Dark Ages".
The Immortal Rites of Bongo Woosh -
Arc of All said to Super Tower, "I want to make a dance track, but our version of a dance track."
A dance track that contained only acoustic instruments, or un-amplified instruments using contact microphones. A dance track that had no sequencing, looping, or sampling, no tape delays, reverb tanks, or punch in takes. It would be the most difficult thing we've done, and it will be a 'statement'.
In 'Marching Band' fashion, each hand clap, snare hit, hi-hat slap, guitar lick, bass run, arco slide, is played out in its entirety, separately, and overdubbed on top of one another first to tape, then CD to CD, CD to RME over and over and over. The track needed to swing, it needed to be Human. Fluctuation in time and space is where I journey. The track went back and forth so many times, the count has long been forgotten. The amount of overdubs and actual time played exceeds 1,000 minutes.
They tried to make us march as much as we could to Caesium, which is the element that tells us what a 'second' is, atomic number 55. But metronomes don't hold any weight around here, and I don't drive 55, and neither does the wind, the rivers, or anything else, you know what I'm saying!? Let Caesium be Caesium, and you be you!
Amphibian Head Files -
An all destructive force on slim-watt valve amps from the decade of flower children. Beware, Mutant Hunters have been warned.
